How to use it

  1. Choose whether to record your microphone and system audio.
  2. Press Start recording and pick a screen, window or tab.
  3. Press Stop, watch the preview and download the video.

Recording sound and video

Your browser asks what to share: a whole screen, one window or one tab. Chrome and Edge can also include the tab's sound, or the whole system's sound on Windows; tick the box in the share dialog when it is offered. Your microphone is mixed in so you can narrate.

Videos are saved as WebM in Chrome, Edge and Firefox, and MP4 in Safari. Both play in current browsers and in VLC; most video editors open them too. Keep recordings short if you plan to email them, or upload the file to your own cloud storage.

Questions

Is there a time limit?

The page sets no limit. Long recordings use more memory, so for very long sessions stop and start a new recording every half hour or so.

Can I record on my phone?

Phone browsers cannot share the screen yet. On iPhone use Screen Recording in Control Centre; on Android use the screen recorder in Quick Settings.

How do I record the sound from a video or call?

Choose a tab and tick Share tab audio in Chrome or Edge, or share the entire screen with system audio on Windows.

What format is the video?

WebM in Chrome, Edge and Firefox, MP4 in Safari. Both play in current browsers and in VLC.
