How 13th month pay is computed
Under Presidential Decree 851, rank-and-file employees receive one twelfth of the basic salary they earned in the calendar year, paid on or before 24 December. Basic salary leaves out overtime, night differential, holiday pay and allowances unless they are part of the regular pay. Employees who resign or join mid-year receive a pro-rated amount.
13th month pay and other benefits such as bonuses are tax-free up to ₱90,000 in total for the year; anything above that is added to taxable income. Enter your other bonuses to see whether you go over the limit.
