How to use it

  1. Enter the birth date.
  2. Change the as-of date if you are not measuring from today.
  3. Read the age, the day count and the next birthday.

How the age is split

Years and months are calendar months, not an average month length. If the day of the month has not been reached yet, the month count steps back. Total days are the exact number of midnights between the two dates.

The next birthday is the birth month and day in the as-of year, or the next year if that day has passed. February 29 uses the calendar's real date.

Questions

Is this the age a form will accept?

Most forms want completed years. Use the years figure, not the months.

What if the as-of date is earlier?

The page asks you to swap them. It does not show a negative age.

Does it know time of day?

No. Both dates are whole days.
