Time zone converter

Pick a date and time, the zone that time belongs to, and the zone you want. The result includes UTC.

How to use it

  1. Enter the wall-clock time.
  2. Choose the zone that time is in.
  3. Choose the zone you want it converted to.

How the conversion is done

The time you type is a wall time in the first zone, not your laptop's zone. The page asks the browser for that zone's offset, including daylight saving on that date, then formats the same instant in the second zone.

The list is a set of common zones, not every city. Pick a city in the same zone if yours is missing. India is Asia/Kolkata, which does not use daylight saving.

The time you enter stays in this tab. The page does not look up a time server.

Questions

Why is the result an hour off in summer?

Choose the zone, not a fixed offset. The browser applies daylight saving for that date.

Does it schedule the meeting?

No. It only shows the time. Send the invitation from your calendar.

What does the UTC line mean?

It is the same instant with no zone offset, useful when a log or a ticket stores UTC.
