How to use it
- Enter the annual CTC, monthly basic pay, dearness allowance and HRA.

What comes out of the CTC
From 17 September 2026 the provident-fund wage ceiling is ₹25,000 a month. The employee share is 12% of PF wages. The employer share is 12% as well: EPS at 8.33% of wages up to the ceiling, rounded to the nearest rupee, and employer EPF as the balance of that 12%. EPS membership applies where the wages on joining, or on 17 September 2026, were within the ceiling. Untick EPS when the whole employer 12% goes to EPF. EDLI and the admin charge are 0.50% of wages up to the ceiling. Tick them when that cost is already inside the CTC.
Income tax follows the Income-tax Act, 2025, in force from 1 April 2026. The new-regime slabs in section 202 run from nil to ₹4 lakh up to 30% above ₹24 lakh. The standard deduction is ₹75,000. Section 156 removes the tax on taxable income up to ₹12 lakh and gives marginal relief above that. Professional tax is the amount you type for your state. Maharashtra publishes its schedule on the MAHAGST profession-tax page. In the new regime, professional tax reduces take-home pay. In the old regime it also reduces taxable income, with the ₹50,000 standard deduction and section 123 deposits up to ₹1,50,000, including the employee provident fund.

Questions
Why is the in-hand figure ₹1,03,100 on the example?
Monthly CTC is ₹1,13,000. Employer provident fund on the ₹25,000 ceiling is ₹3,000, so gross pay is ₹1,10,000. Your provident fund is ₹3,000. Taxable income after the ₹75,000 standard deduction is ₹12,45,000, tax for the year is ₹46,800, and a month of that tax is ₹3,900. In-hand pay is ₹1,10,000 minus ₹3,000 minus ₹3,900.
How are the EPFO rounding examples handled?
On PF wages of ₹10,000, ₹15,000, ₹20,000 and ₹25,000 the employee share is ₹1,200, ₹1,800, ₹2,400 and ₹3,000. EPS rounds 8.33% to ₹833, ₹1,250, ₹1,666 and ₹2,083, and employer EPF is the remainder of the 12%.
Where do I put professional tax?
Type the amount your state deducts in a normal month. When February differs, type that amount in the February field. Leave February empty when every month is the same. In the new regime, taxable income is gross pay after the ₹75,000 standard deduction, and professional tax reduces the in-hand pay.
What does the old regime change?
The old regime uses the Part I-B slabs, a ₹50,000 standard deduction, the annual professional tax, and section 123 deposits up to ₹1,50,000. Your employee provident fund counts toward that ₹1,50,000. Age changes the nil band from 60, and from 80.
Is the monthly tax the same as TDS?
The month shown is the year's tax divided by 12. A payroll can withhold a different amount in a particular month. The year figure is the section 202 tax, including the section 156 rebate, surcharge where it applies, and the 4% health and education cess.
