How to use it
- Choose an image.
- Lower the quality or the longest side if you need a smaller file.
- Download the result before you close the tab.
What changes
The picture is drawn to a canvas and saved as a JPEG. A very large image is scaled so its longest side is at most the number you set, defaulting to 2000 pixels. Quality is the JPEG quality from 0.4 to 0.95.
PNG transparency becomes white, because JPEG has no transparency. Camera metadata is not kept, because the canvas writes a new file.

Questions
Why is the file sometimes larger?
A PNG that is already small, or a JPEG saved at a high quality, may not shrink. Lower the quality.
Does it change the pixels?
Scaling and JPEG compression both can. Keep the original if you need it untouched.
Where is the download?
The download link appears under the preview after the browser finishes encoding.
