How the rounds are built
A round is a block of work, then a rest. The rest after the last round of a set is left off, so the set ends on the work. Rest between sets is its own interval, and it appears between sets when you set it above zero. A prepare countdown runs once at the start when you give it seconds. Tabata here is 20 seconds of work and 10 of rest, eight rounds, with a 10 second prepare you can change.
The end of each interval is a wall-clock time, so a moment in a background tab still finishes when it should. Keep the tab available if you want to hear the beep. On a phone that allows it, the screen stays awake while the timer runs. Train at a pace that suits you. This page keeps the time.

Questions
What is the Tabata preset?
Twenty seconds of work and ten seconds of rest, eight times, after a ten second prepare. Set prepare to zero if you want to start on the first work interval.
Does the last round include a rest?
The rest after the final work of a set is left off. Rest between sets plays only when you set it and you have more than one set.
Will it finish if I switch apps?
The interval ends on wall-clock time. A background tab can delay the beep until you come back, and the phase will already have moved on.
Can I share a workout?
The lengths can sit in the page link. Send the link and the same prepare, work, rest, rounds and sets open for the other person.
