    How to use it

    1. Click each button inside the box, including the side buttons if your mouse has them.
    2. Scroll the wheel up and down.
    3. Click the left button slowly, once at a time, and watch for double-click warnings.

Finding a mouse that double-clicks by itself

A worn switch often sends two clicks a few milliseconds apart when you press once, which opens files by accident and breaks dragging. The test times every press, and when two presses of the same button arrive closer together than the warning limit (80 ms by default) it flags them. A person cannot normally click that fast on purpose.

The counters show clicks for each button, double-clicks as the system reports them and scroll steps in each direction. The side buttons usually act as Back and Forward; the page keeps them inside the test area so they do not leave the page.

    Questions

How do I know my mouse is double-clicking?

Click slowly, once at a time, for a minute. If the test reports a double-click warning or two clicks only a few milliseconds apart, the switch is chattering.

Can a double-clicking mouse be fixed?

Cleaning the switch with compressed air sometimes helps for a while. A lasting fix is replacing the switch or the mouse; many mice are under warranty for this fault.

Why does right-click not open a menu here?

The test area keeps right-clicks to count them. Outside the box, the right button works as usual.

Does it test the scroll wheel click?

Yes. Pressing the wheel counts as the middle button.
