How to use it

  1. Paste one item per line.
  2. Choose A to Z, Z to A, or a numeric order.
  3. Turn on duplicate removal if you want each line once.

How lines are ordered

Alphabetical order uses the browser's language-aware comparison and ignores case. Numeric order uses the number at the start of the line. Lines that are not numbers sort as NaN and group together.

Duplicate removal keeps the first copy of a line and compares the whole line, including spaces.

Questions

Does it sort words inside a line?

No. Each line moves as a whole.

How are 2 and 10 ordered numerically?

As numbers, 2 comes before 10. Alphabetical order would put 10 first.

Are blank lines kept?

Yes, unless they are duplicates and you asked to drop duplicates.
