This is the one iPhone screenshot set Apple's App Store Connect page lists as required: 1206 × 2622 or 1179 × 2556 pixels (portrait), or 2622 × 1206 or 2556 × 1179 in landscape. Is it required?

Yes. Apple's page lists the required sizes at the top: at least one iPhone screenshot for iPhone with Dynamic Island (medium display), and, if your app supports iPadOS, at least one for the iPad 13-inch display.

Apple also says that if screenshots with these accepted sizes aren't provided, scaled screenshots for iPhone with Face ID (large display) are used, and that if your interface looks the same on every size you only need screenshots for the highest required resolution, which App Store Connect scales down for smaller devices. Check which sizes App Store Connect shows as scaled before you submit.

Formerly the 6.3-inch display

Apple's page listed these sizes under the 6.3" display until it changed between 22 Sep and 6 Oct 2026, most likely on 5 Oct. The update renamed the iPhone groups by device type; this slot kept the same iPhones and the same two pixel sizes. What changed in October 2026.

If App Store Connect says you must upload a screenshot for this slot

App Store Connect shows an error like “You must upload a screenshot for iPhone with Dynamic Island (medium display)” (Apple's help pages don't publish the exact wording). It points at the one iPhone set Apple lists as required. To clear it, upload at least one 1206 × 2622 or 1179 × 2556 screenshot (or 2622 × 1206 or 2556 × 1179 in landscape) to iPhone with Dynamic Island (medium display). Resize your screenshot to an accepted size, then add it in App Store Connect. If the upload itself is refused, see the dimensions of one or more screenshots are wrong.

Questions

What is the required iPhone screenshot size?

1206 × 2622 or 1179 × 2556 pixels in portrait, or 2622 × 1206 or 2556 × 1179 in landscape. Apple calls the slot iPhone with Dynamic Island (medium display) and requires at least one screenshot for it.

Is this the old 6.3-inch size?

Yes. Apple's page called this group the 6.3" display until an update between 22 Sep and 6 Oct 2026, most likely on 5 Oct, which renamed the iPhone groups by device type. The pixel sizes didn't change.

Do I need a 6.9-inch set too?

Not for Apple's required list, which names only this slot for iPhone. The 6.9-inch size, now iPhone with Dynamic Island (large display), is still accepted. Apple's Face ID (large display) row still says it's required if the app runs on iPhone and Dynamic Island (large display) screenshots aren't provided, so check App Store Connect's media manager before you submit.

What happens if I don't upload this size?

Apple's page says scaled screenshots for iPhone with Face ID (large display) are used when screenshots with these sizes aren't provided. Check the media manager in App Store Connect before you submit.

Can one screenshot be 1179 × 2556 and another 1206 × 2622?

Both sizes are accepted for this slot. Keeping one size for a whole set is simpler, and the resizer exports either one from the same source image.
