How to use it

  1. Add a photo. HEIC photos open in Safari.
  2. Choose blur or pixelate, then paint with the brush or drag a box.
  3. Save PNG, JPG or WebP.

A brush for a face, a box for a plate

The brush follows your stroke and softens only that path. The box covers a rectangle in one drag, which suits a number plate, a doorway or a line of text. Pixelate swaps the marked area for blocks of its average colour, and blur spreads the colour into a soft patch. Strength sets how far the blur reaches, or how large each pixel block is.

The working copy is capped at 2000 pixels on the long side so the brush stays quick, and the saved file is that working copy. JPG, PNG, WebP and GIF open in current browsers. HEIC photos open in Safari. JPG saves on a white background where the photo had transparent pixels.
