- Press Enlarge, then download the PNG or JPG.
How the enlargement works
Real-ESRGAN rebuilds fine detail as it enlarges. 2× finishes sooner and keeps a smaller file. 4× makes a larger picture. The page shows the finished size and a progress line while it works. A small photo enlarges to a true 2× or 4×. A very large photo is fitted to a size this device can finish, and that fitted size is the one you download.
The first run downloads the enlargement model, about 2.3 MB, and this browser keeps it. Smoothing downloads a second matching model once. The first run also prepares the on-device runtime: about 3.6 MB on the processor, or about 6.8 MB when the browser offers a graphics chip. Later photos skip that download.

Questions
Does my photo leave this device?
Your photo stays in this browser. The enlargement runs here, and the file is saved to your downloads.
Why is the first enlargement slower?
The first run downloads the model and prepares the on-device runtime. This browser keeps both, so the next photo starts straight away.
Will a large photo enlarge to a full 4×?
A small photo enlarges to a true 2× or 4×. A very large photo is fitted so it finishes in a reasonable time, and the page shows the size you will download.
What does smoothing do?
Keep detail leaves the picture as the model rebuilt it. Light and Strong soften noise. Strong downloads a second model the first time you choose it.
Which browsers can run this?
Current Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari can run it. A computer is quicker than a phone. When the browser offers a graphics chip, the page uses it.
