Three contributions, three salary bases

SSS follows Circular No. 2024-006 from January 2025. The monthly salary credit is compensation rounded to the nearest ₱500, from ₱5,000 to ₱35,000. The contribution is 15% of that credit, 10% from the employer and 5% from the employee. The regular social security credit stops at ₱20,000 and the rest, up to ₱35,000, is the provident fund. Employees' compensation is ₱10 when the credit is ₱14,500 or below and ₱30 when it is ₱15,000 or above, paid by the employer. A kasambahay whose compensation is below ₱5,000 has a minimum credit of ₱1,000, and the household employer pays the whole 15% plus employees' compensation. A self-employed member pays the 15% and the employees' compensation.

PhilHealth is 5% of monthly basic salary, from a floor of ₱10,000 (₱500) to a ceiling of ₱100,000 (₱5,000). Employed members, including household help, split that premium in half. A self-paying member pays the whole premium. Pag-IBIG Circular No. 460 uses a fund salary up to ₱10,000: 1% from the employee and 2% from the employer when the fund salary is ₱1,500 or below, and 2% each when it is above ₱1,500. A kasambahay below ₱5,000 has the whole Pag-IBIG share paid by the employer. Allowances are added for SSS and Pag-IBIG. PhilHealth uses the basic salary.

Questions

What is the share on a ₱30,000 salary?

The monthly salary credit is ₱30,000. SSS is ₱1,500 from the employee and ₱3,030 from the employer, including ₱30 employees' compensation. PhilHealth is ₱750 each. Pag-IBIG is ₱200 each. The deduction is ₱2,450 and the employer pays ₱3,980.

How does the salary credit round?

Compensation is rounded to the nearest ₱500. Below ₱5,250 the employee credit is ₱5,000, so the employee pays ₱250 and the employer pays ₱510, a total of ₱760. From ₱34,750 the credit is ₱35,000: the employee pays ₱1,750 and the employer pays ₱3,530.

What does a kasambahay pay below ₱5,000?

On compensation below ₱1,250 the credit is ₱1,000. The household employer pays ₱150 plus ₱10 employees' compensation, and the kasambahay's SSS share is zero. PhilHealth still uses the ₱10,000 floor and is split in half. Pag-IBIG on a fund salary of ₱1,500 or below is 3%, paid by the employer.

Why is PhilHealth still 5% in 2026?

Advisory 2026-0042 keeps the rate at 5%, the floor at ₱10,000 and the ceiling at ₱100,000. A basic salary of ₱10,000 has a premium of ₱500, ₱30,000 has ₱1,500, and ₱100,000 has ₱5,000.

What is the Pag-IBIG maximum?

The maximum fund salary is ₱10,000, so the regular share caps at ₱200 from the employee and ₱200 from the employer. A fund salary of exactly ₱1,500 uses 1% and 2%. A peso above ₱1,500 uses 2% and 2%.
