About the sound

The tone is synthesised in your browser with the Web Audio API, so the page loads fast and nothing is downloaded. It is a practice instrument, not a sampled concert grand. For realistic piano, drum and xylophone sounds on your phone, use the app.

Questions

Can I play the piano with my computer keyboard?

Yes. A S D F G H J K play the white keys from C, and W E T Y U play the black keys. Use the Lowest C list to change octave.

Does the virtual piano work on a phone?

Yes. Tap the keys; multi-touch lets you play chords. Turn the phone sideways for wider keys.

Why is there no sound on my iPhone?

Tap a key once to start audio, and turn the volume up. The page asks iOS for media playback, so the silent switch should not mute it.

Can I record what I play?

Not on this page. Drums n Piano for iPhone has instruments with more realistic sounds.

Is there a sustain pedal?

Yes. Tick Sustain pedal and notes keep ringing until you untick it.
