Online voice recorder
Record your voice or an instrument from any microphone, pause and resume, play it back and download the file. It never leaves your device.

Press Record and allow the microphone.
How to record your voice online
- Press Record and allow microphone access. The timer runs and the bar shows your level.
- Use Pause to skip a part without starting a new file.
- Press Stop and save. The recording appears below with a player, a download button and a delete button.
- Download before you close the tab. Recordings are kept only in this page's memory.
- Keep the level bar in the green. If it turns red you are too loud or too close; move back a little.
File format
The browser picks the format it can record: Safari on iPhone and Mac saves .m4a (AAC), Chrome, Edge and Firefox save .webm or .ogg (Opus). All play in VLC and modern browsers. WhatsApp, email and most editors accept them; to get MP3, open the file in an audio editor and export.
Better recordings
- Record in a small room with soft furnishings; bare walls add echo.
- Keep the phone or mic about a hand's width from your mouth and slightly to the side to avoid popping on P and B sounds.
- For speech, leave voice processing on. For singing or instruments, tick Raw audio so the browser does not squash the dynamics.
- Test first with the online mic test if nothing is recorded.
Questions
Is my recording uploaded?
No. Recording, playback and the download all happen in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server and nothing is kept after you close the tab.
Can I record on iPhone?
Yes, in Safari or Chrome on iOS 14.3 or later. The file is saved as .m4a; tap Download, then save it to Files.
How long can I record?
There is no fixed limit. Long recordings use device memory, so for hours of audio a dedicated app is safer.
Can I get an MP3?
Browsers record AAC or Opus, not MP3. Both are widely supported; convert in an audio editor if you need MP3.
Why is the recording silent?
The wrong input may be selected or access was blocked. Check the site's microphone permission, then try the mic test page.
