Quote image maker
Turn any quote into an image for Instagram, Stories, WhatsApp status or Pinterest. Choose a size, colours and font, or use your own photo.
Edit the text; the preview updates as you type.
How to make a quote image
- Type or paste the quote and, if you know it, the author. The text resizes itself to fit.
- Pick a size for where you will post: square or portrait for the Instagram feed, 1080 × 1920 for Stories, Reels and TikTok, 1000 × 1500 for Pinterest.
- Choose colours and a font, or add your own photo as the background. Use Darken photo until the text is easy to read.
- Press Download PNG. On iPhone the image opens; tap and hold, or use Share, to save it to Photos.
Making quotes that get shared
- Short is stronger: under 20 words reads at a glance in a feed.
- Check the source. Many famous lines are misattributed; if you are not sure, leave the author blank or write “Unknown”.
- Keep contrast high. Light text on a dark, slightly blurred photo works best on small screens.
- Quotes from works still under copyright are fine to share briefly with credit; avoid long excerpts.
Privacy
The image is drawn on a canvas in your browser with system fonts, so it loads instantly and your photo is never uploaded.
Questions
What size should a quote image be for Instagram?
1080 × 1080 for a square post or 1080 × 1350 for portrait, which takes more space in the feed. Stories and Reels are 1080 × 1920.
Can I use my own photo as the background?
Yes. Add a photo, then darken it so the text stands out. The photo stays on your device.
Is the image watermarked?
No. The PNG contains only your quote, author and background.
Why does my long quote look small?
The text shrinks to fit the image. Shorten the quote or choose a taller size such as Story or Pinterest.
