How to resize a photo for your wallpaper

Choose a photo and the screen it is for. The canvas switches to that exact resolution.
Fill screen crops the photo to cover the whole screen; move the position sliders to choose which part stays. Use Zoom to crop tighter.
Fit with blurred background keeps the whole photo, such as a landscape shot on a portrait phone, and fills the gaps with a soft blurred copy.
Press Download wallpaper. On iPhone, save the image to Photos, then open it and choose Share › Use as Wallpaper.

iOS can zoom wallpapers for the perspective effect. If yours looks too big, turn off Perspective Zoom when you set it, or pinch to fit in the Lock Screen editor.
The Lock Screen clock and widgets sit in the top third; keep faces and key details lower or let the depth effect place the subject in front of the clock.
A photo smaller than the screen gets enlarged and looks soft. The status line warns you when the photo is being scaled up.
For desktop, match your display's native resolution, not the scaled “looks like” size, so the image stays sharp.
